I have always liked games that give you something to think about.

Sometimes that's a big strategic decision. Sometimes it's a clever card interaction that you didn't see coming. Sometimes it's a theme that makes you want to learn more about the world the game is creating. And sometimes it's just a really fun game that makes everyone around the table laugh.

That is what Valor Mountain Games is about.

Valor Mountain Games is an independent tabletop game publisher based in Cincinnati, Ohio. We publish board games and card games that we think are worth putting on our table, so that you want to put them on your table. These are games with interesting ideas, memorable themes, and mechanics that give players a reason to come back and play again.Some are hobby games for dedicated gamers, while others are games you can share with anyone who simply wants to spend time genuinely connecting with other people without having to learn a lot of rules.

Why Valor Mountain?

There are a lot of great games out there. There are also a lot of games that don't quite fit into the usual categories.

Those are often the games that catch our attention.

We are interested in games that do something a little different. Maybe the core mechanic is unusual. Maybe the theme hasn't been explored much in tabletop games. Maybe the game is deceptively simple but has more depth than you expect. Or maybe it is just the kind of game that people keep talking about after they finish playing. Maybe they were just a little goofy.

We want to find those games and give them a chance.

Some of the games we publish are our own projects. Others come from designers and publishers we have met through years of playing, designing, testing, traveling to conventions, and being part of the tabletop gaming community.

The common thread is simple: we want to publish games we are excited to play.

We have met designers, artists, publishers, retailers, and players all over the world through this hobby. From local game nights to conventions like GAMA Expo, Origins, and Gen Con, the people involved in tabletop gaming are a big part of what keeps us excited about it.

Valor Mountain Games is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, but our games and the people we work with reach far beyond Ohio.

We believe good games can come from anywhere, and we are always interested in seeing what someone has created.

What We Publish

Our catalog includes a mix of strategy games, family games, card games, adventure games, trick-taking games, and games that are difficult to put neatly into a single category.
